Named after an indigenous species of cedar tree by the Maasai, Ndarakwai Ranch is a thriving sanctuary for wildlife. In 1995, Peter Jones, the owner, committed to restoring the rangeland with the hope that wildlife populations would rebound. His consistent efforts have had a profound impact on the environment. With trees and vegetation protected, the water table has risen, grasslands have flourished, and a variety of grass species now thrive. As a result, wildlife has returned to Ndarakwai in abundance.
