DAY 1 ARUSHA
Meet at your lodge and transfer to your lodge for pre-safari briefing.

DAY 2 ARUSHA - LAKE MANYARA
Our safari begins by passing through the town centre of Arusha and witnessing the sights and sounds of a colourful and bustling African city. We depart the city from the south west in the direction of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara at the base of an escarpment. We enter the park for an afternoon game drive and then onto our room overlooking the Rift Valley wall for overnight.

DAY 3 LAKE MANYARA - LAKE EYASI
We enter the true tribal areas of Tanzania after leaving the tourist trail after breakfast and heading towards Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival we are able to interact with the Hadzabe/Datoga tribes by taking an afternoon wilderness walk of the area.

DAY 4 LAKE EYASI - NGORONGORO
A very early morning of traditional hunting ensures we are learning ancient customs of the hunter-gatherer firsthand. We join in the singing & dancing and afterwards visit the Datoga, traditional blacksmiths of the area. Return to lodge for brunch and afternoon of relaxation.

DAY 5 LAKE EYASI — NGORONGORO
Early transfer to Ngorongoro. Ngorongoro is collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. Descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. With several different habitats, Ngorongoro Crater can offer extensive viewing within this 22 square kilometre fishbowl. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the Crater before returning to the Maasai-run lodge on the crater rim forest for refreshment and overnight.

DAY 6 NGORONGORO - SERENGETI
The transfer to the Serengeti is via a sea of red clothed warriors. We lunch en-route and arrive at our camp late afternoon.

DAY 7 SERENGETI
Our special camp is within prime viewing areas and as it is located in the unspoilt areas of the Serengeti. We spend the day in search of spectacular wildlife by combing the surrounding areas, while only to returning to the camp for lunch and resting before afternoon game driving.

DAY 8 SERENGETI
We continue to explore the central areas of the Serengeti. We are able to explore game-filled plains and try to spot the Big Cats lazing among the kopjes.

DAY 9 SERENGETI
An extension on areas already discovered allows today to be in pursuit of even more prime wildlife. It is a convenient access point for an optional Serengeti Balloon Safari or simply enjoy a private dinner under the stars of the Serengeti.

DAY 10 SERENGETI - TARANGIRE
An exciting return transfer through the rugged terrain of the Great Rift Valley outskirts and the archeological site of Oldupai Gorge ensues breakfast today. And we arrive to Esilalei Maasai Village for afternoon walking amongst the Maasai and then onto the luxury camp. The remoteness of this camp ensures intimacy and a classical bush experience.

DAY 11 TARANGIRE - ARUSHA
We enter Tarangire for game driving and exploration of this wilderness as we learn animal behaviours and natural habitats from local experienced guides. We transfer to Arusha after lunch for Craft Market Exploration and safari de-briefing.

DAY 12 ARUSHA - BEYOND
We make a timely transfer to Arusha departure point for travel beyond.

Meet at Nairobi airport upon arrival and transfer to your lodge for pre-safari briefing.

DAY 2 NAIROBI – MASAI MARA
After breakfast, a 4-5 hour drive through agricultural country to Masai Mara Game Reserve to enter for afternoon game driving. The Mara Game Reserve is largely plains and the open grasslands are habitat to rich and varied wildlife such as lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, crocodile etc. There are also several species of birds such as vultures, herons, shrikes, etc. The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and antelope from July to September is a spectacle never to be missed by any visitor to the Mara. Continue to camp for overnight.

DAY 3 MASAI MARA
We spend all day on game drives in the Mara. Early start recommended. We'll have our picnic lunch on the banks of the Mara river as we watch hippos. We return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 MASAI MARA – SERENGETI
After breakfast, early transfer to the Isebania border post with Tanzania and cross over. Meet your Tanzanian guide for Tanzania briefing and then continue onto Speke Bay (Lake Victoria) for overnight.

DAY 5 SERENGETI
Serengeti is calling today – after a morning canoeing adventure, drive directly to the Serengeti! Game drive in the rolling grasslands. Criss-crossed with forested riverine valleys, the Serengeti plays home to millions of Africa's large mammals, making this one of the world's most famous wildlife destinations. Continue to special camp for overnight—location is seasonal as the camp follows the migration movements (Serengeti or Ndutu).

DAY 6 SERENGETI
All day game drive in Serengeti or Ndutu. Best time for the wildebeest migration is Dec to June but there are spectacular wildlife sights at anytime of year.

DAY 7 SERENGETI – NGORONGORO
Game drive out of the Serengeti - optional pass through Olduvai Gorge and a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found (fees apply). Otherwise, we continue through the conservation area and onto the Ngorongoro crater rim for overnight.

DAY 8 NGORONGORO – CRATER HIGHLANDS
Ngorongoro is collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. In late afternoon, we return to the rim for a wilderness walk that showcases incredible views of the caldera. Continue onto the crater highlands for overnight in chalet rooms.

DAY 9 CRATER HIGHLANDS
Leisurely walking safari through farms and villages on the rift valley escarpment. You can discover the farming, irrigation and cattle husbandry techniques, visit houses and, if you want, sample local cuisine of the Iraqw tribe. There is also traditional wood-fired brick making, local musicians and you can generally gain a deeper understanding of the lifestyle of the people who live and work here. Return to lodge for overnight.

DAY 10 CRATER HIGHLANDS – LAKE MANYARA - ARUSHA
Game-drive around Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famed for the bird life round the soda lake - flamingos in particular, and is home to unusual tree-climbing lions. It is also has a large elephant population. In the mid-afternoon, we transfer into the Maasai Heartlands to a village called Esilalei (Toothbrush Tree) located in the wildlife corridor in between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. We enjoy a packed lunch just as we enter the village and are met by the villagers who offer us to freely explore this authentic village. Your visit supports the building of their school here. Return to Arusha for overnight.

DAY 2 NAIROBI – MASAI MARA
