Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a knowledgeable Great Lakes Safaris representative. After a safari briefing and meeting your driver guide, you’ll be transferred to the upscale Heaven Boutique Hotel for a relaxing evening.

After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre. Explore the exhibitions paying tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide, offering insights into Rwanda’s history. Later, journey to Volcanoes National Park, enjoying lunch en route at the Mille Collins Restaurant. Upon arrival, check in at the Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel and unwind for the evening.

Rise early for an exhilarating gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. After a briefing at the RDB offices, embark on a guided walk through the park’s steep slopes, home to the rare mountain gorillas. Spend an unforgettable hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, consider an optional visit to the Ibyi’wacu cultural village for a deeper understanding of rural Rwandan life.

Today offers an optional golden monkey trekking excursion, providing another opportunity to explore Volcanoes National Park’s rich biodiversity. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting out on the trek. Spend time observing the playful Golden Monkeys in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge for lunch. Later, check out and transfer back to Kigali, where you’ll spend the night at the Heaven Boutique Hotel.
