On this safari we’ll have excellent possibilities to photograph the famous big cats of the Masai Mara, Lions, Cheetahs and Leopards and we’ll search for the equally interesting small cats, Servals and Caracals. We’ll follow them through the day and the week, photograph them as they search for prey, defend their territories, play or simply relax under a magnificent Mara sky. Depending on the situations, sometimes we might concentrate on one family of cats for many days, learning to see the world through their eyes.

In this period the great Wildebeests’ migration is in the Mara, giving us the opportunity to see huge herds of animals walking across the plains or the magnificent river crossings, one of the most amazing natural spectacles on earth.

This safari will be for a maximum of 8 guests on two vehicles. Each guest will have a full row of seats available to photograph comfortably on both sides. Couples may request to share a row of seats, for a maximum of 1 couple per vehicle. Minimum of 5 guests are required for the safari to take place.

We use extended Land Cruiser specifically configured for wildlife photography. Each Land Cruiser seats 7 guests on three rows of seats, but we give each photographer a full row. Vehicles have ample side openings, supports for tripod heads, open roof and ample space and loads of bean bags on board.

We will stay in two different luxury camps in the two areas of the Masai Mara that we love the most, each offering different sceneries and photographic opportunities. Both are inside the Masai Mara National Reserve, and offer quick access to the areas that are richest of game. Camps are small, intimate and completely unfenced, so animals will walk through the camp at night. The tents are extremely comfortable, all are en-suite with toilets and showers, and food is excellent.

Federico Veronesi will be your guide for the whole safari. He will share his time equally between the two vehicles. Throughout the safari he will share his knowledge on the wildlife of the Mara, the cats that he has been following for many years, some of them since they were cubs. Through the years he learned to understand and predict their behaviour, ensuring you’ll often be in the best spot for photography, all without running from one place to the other and most importantly without disturbing them or destroying their environment. Federico will provide assistance to participants on all aspects of wildlife photography, from composition and light in the field, to processing of images in the evening in camp.

The second vehicle will be driven by a local guide certified by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association and with extensive knowledge of the Masai Mara.

The cost for this safari will be 5,280 USD p/person on sharing basis, including:
Full board accommodation for 6 nights in Masai Mara;
Accommodation for 1 night in Nairobi on bed & breakfast;
Park Fees;
Guiding by Federico Veronesi sharing between two vehicles;
Full row on Land Cruiser 4×4 with unlimited game drives from before sunrise to after sunset;
Masai Mara – Nairobi flight;
Flying Doctors emergency evacuation insurance;
