Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp – Kogatende

Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp in Kogatende offers an intimate and unique safari experience with 10 mobile tents that relocate throughout the year to follow the wildebeest migration. From June 1 to October 31, the camp is strategically positioned in Kogatende, in the far northern Serengeti. This prime location provides excellent access to the Bologonja and Mara Rivers, where guests can witness the dramatic river crossings as wildebeest herds brave crocodile-infested waters. This period, especially between mid-July and mid-September, is ideal for viewing this incredible natural spectacle.

Each tent measures 12m by 4m, constructed from heavy-duty safari rip-stop canvas made locally in Morogoro, Tanzania, with added shade-clothing for cooling. Guests are greeted by a patio area with chairs and side tables for relaxation. The tents feature front zips that open fully, with layers of mosquito netting and canvas for protection and ventilation. Inside, the tents are furnished with handmade furniture, armchairs, footrests, carpeting, coffee stations, desks, luggage racks, and other amenities. The decor incorporates natural and African-inspired tones, enhancing the connection with the surroundings. Each bed is fitted with white cotton sheets, double pillows, duvets, throw cushions, and bed runners, with full mosquito netting for protection.

The tents have netted windows on each side, providing ventilation while keeping insects out. The bathroom area, accessible from the bedroom through a separate doorway, includes a ceramic wash basin with running water, natural bathroom products, and suitable linen. The area also features a woven grass mat, clothes rack, and safety deposit box. The toilet area has a ceramic flushing toilet within a wooden frame, and the shower area includes a 20-litre PVC bucket on a pulley system. Each tent is equipped with an extensive solar lighting system for convenience.
